Call for participation | Identification best experiences of Nature Based Solutions in the Mediterranean

Event date :
Thu, 20/10/2016

With the aim of promoting Nature Based Solutions in the Mediterranean and promoting this approach, the IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation (IUCN-Med) launched in May 2016 a process to identify and select those best Mediterranean experiences. We wishes to express our gratitude to all the institutions and experts, who have participated in the first phase and have supported the identification and selection of the criteria (see list in the annex of the background document).

After selecting the criteria, as an IUCN Member, or IUCN strategic regional partner we would like to invite you to answer this QUESTIONNAIRE (see attachment) and participate in the process of identifying and proposing good examples of nature-based solutions implemented in the Mediterranean either, by yourselves, or by other institutions. This means, case studies, projects and actions, already implemented, in the Mediterranean Basin that could clearly show how nature conservation can contribute to solve/avoid problems or face important challenges, at any level, local, regional or global.

The deadline for submitting best examples of NbS in the Mediterranean is October 20th, 2016.

We hope that thanks to your contribution we could showcase the best experiences of Nature Based Solutions in the Mediterranean on an online platform.

Director of the IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation
