A gentle first day!

As you know, Marine Lovero, our executive assistant, will be leaving AIFM on September 30th, 2017.

Since June 15th, we welcome our new recruit, Camille Stouff, to reinforce the team on issues related to the MEDFORVAL project, and to gradually take over Marine's files before taking her definitive position.

In addition to being an AIFM member, Camille is has graduated ENGREF's Ecosystems and Tropical Forest Management Master Program (AgroParisTech Montpellier) and has worked as an expert in forestry in France and in the Congo basin.

For its first day at AIFM, a field trip to the Sainte-Baume (Bouches-du-Rhône, France) was organized to discuss the MEDFORVAL qualification of High Ecological Value forests, on the bibliographic work of our intern Xuanxuan Chen (at AIFM since mid-May).

The field trip allowed to make the first sketches of the recognition of High Ecological Value on the field, and the adaptability of the techniques, in comparison with the IBP (Index of potential biodiversity) of Gonin and Larrieu.

Thanks to the help of Louis Amandier (distinguished member of AIFM Board of Directors,  retired forest engineer, self-contractor and MEDFORVAL expert), we were able to identify certain priority values and discuss the feasibility of the formalization of High Ecological Value in the forests of the Mediterranean basin.

This first contact with Camille as a member of the Secretariat was a pleasure, and we hope that it was the same for her. Welcome Camille !!
