    The International Association for Mediterranean Forests (AIFM), founded in 1996, has for purpose to facilitate knowledge, experiences and ideas exchange on Mediterranean forest landscapes with a cross-field, multidisciplinary and international approach.

    The International Association for Mediterranean Forests (AIFM), founded in 1996, has for purpose to facilitate knowledge, experiences and ideas exchange on Mediterranean forest landscapes with a cross-field, multidisciplinary and international approach.

Network

To achieve its objectives, AIFM manages a network of organizations and individuals from differents backgrounds (foresters, environmentalists, scientists, politicians, civil security agents), ensurin a transversal approach:

  • 1500 contacts in the Mediterranean (25 Mediterranean countries represented) who receive regular information on Mediterranean forests through an electronic Newsletter,

  • about 50 members who support AIFM’s activities,

  • about 30 local or international partners with whom the AIFM regularly cooperates,

  • 4 financial partners: Region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Department of Bouches-du-Rhône, FAO (Silva Mediterranea) and Fondation MAVA pour la nature.
