FOREST EUROPE publishes the State of Europe’s Forests 2020 report
The State of Europe’s Forests 2020 report and its summary for policy makers are the result of cooperation with many experts, specialists from different countries, governments and international organizations. FAO and UNECE provided technical support for data collection and review of the national reports.
The report notes that about 3% of European forests are damaged, mainly by wind, insects, ungulate grazing and forest fires.
It highlights a clear regional pattern of specific disturbances: fires occur mainly in the Mediterranean region.
